Just though I would share since there seems to be this crazy flame war going on about vtd-ing z1 posts and ams, etc etc...!! But anyway, maybe this will break up the monotony a little bit. Well...the last couple years for me have been a rather crazy roller coaster ride.Working a full time job and trying to run a custom cabinet business out of my garage. Realized that was just too much, so I settled down with the cabinet business and now do only work for friends and family basically. SO, after much neglect and downtime, I have begun to "recoup" my Z if you will. The car has been sitting for almost 2 years. The first couple months although I wasn't driving the car, I would still start her up just to keep the battery alive and to let her juices flow a little bit. Well, unfortunately that didn't last long. The car sat uncovered, out in the elements for over a year, before I finally covered it up--(a day late and a buck short, huh?). Fast forward to this month: Well after an inspection of the Z turned over the fact that: the tires had horrible flat spots and were nearly dry rotted, the brake fluid reservoir was empty, the paint on the front and rear bumpers and around the door handles was shot, the glove box failed to re-close after opening it, and among other things, a dead battery of course. Well, A new battery, new plugs, and an oil change later, I tried to crank her...nothing. Well, starter was replaced before downtime, so I doubted that, but just in case I gave it a few swift blows to see if maybe something needed some freeing up. No luck. After searching on here I come across I believe a FAQ article about the starter relay behind the d/s fender well, and I went to local dealership and picked one up for maybe 20 bucks? Installed it, and.....She fired right up. What a relief. After the lifters calmed down, everything seemed fine. Bought a new master cylinder, changed that out. Thats about where I am now. This weekend I installed new rotors, pads, SS brakelines, painted the rusty stock calipers black and installed new wheels and tires also. I have the 120k timing belt kit w/ underdrive pulley ordered from COZ. Plan on installing TT front bumper and repainting rear bumper among many other things. Other than that, I'll just post a few pictures to close.... Thanks guys!New rotors. You can see the rough looking front bumper and the green stain where the front of the car sat over grass. I'm also using a bottle jack as a jack stand btw.
 closeup - nothing special...
This look is the latest crave.
 Gotta have this
Yes, I know the broken wheel stud is such an eye sore. Fixing very soon :-)
And, last but not least (NZR), also installed this bookcase that I built 3 or 4 weeks ago and finally stained and shot a coat of clear on so that I could get in put in this weekend. Just thought I would share, and this may also help you guys who wonder where "woodman" came from.
